Fact Or Fiction? Online Data Entry Jobs Without Investment

Everyone wants to work from home but is it really possible to land any legitimate data entry jobs without investment of money? Here are some tips you can use and a few links to real places who pay people to input data from home.

Don't Buy Anything or Pay a Fee!

Real jobs don't make people pay money even for a background check. If they say, sure - just fill out this form and give us $20 for a background check fee, get away from that site! In fact, if you've got any job experience in the data entry field, you could list your services on Elance.com for a small fee (in this case you're working for yourself taking the jobs you want and advertising) and list your skills.

Other sites you can use are PeoplePerHour.com, this lists a bunch of writing and data entry jobs, free to register and you bid on the job or there are also some with flat fees. I saw a lot of interesting looking jobs for bloggers. There's also Guru.com which is free as well to sign up and there are a list of jobs also on this site.

Research the Company Thoroughly!

Just "Google" it! How much easier can it get but to research the companies with home based data entry jobs? You just put their name in the search bar and read their instructions for signing up. If there's a fee - move on. Those sites with legit jobs will have real information that is written in a professional manner. You'll be able to tell the scams from the real thing once you do your research. If there's a phone number, you can call them and find out if they're a real business. I had to call a company one time because someone kept sending me emails to scam money and I found out the company was legit, with real jobs but the email scammer was using a real worker's name from the company but it didn't have anything to do with the company. So call if you really want the truth - if it feels wrong - run!

Check the Requirements!

Most of the real home based data entry jobs will list the requirements. If you've got the skills, fill out the application. The great thing about the freelance sites is you have the flexibility to choose the job you want and go for it. Some of the jobs I saw with set pay were from $100 - $200 but I didn't know the time frame. It could be an hour, a day or a week. You just have to read the client's order on the sites.

Two things I've learned over the years is don't stand in your own way and it's a numbers game. That means you have to find out how many jobs you have to apply for before you get one. If you keep applying you'll eventually land a job. Don't worry about getting the first job for a lot of money - just get the job. The more experience you get the more you'll be able to make.

Have Patience~

And last but not least, you need to have patience when looking for a data entry job. I've noticed when I feel rushed I tend to mess things up and get my head all wrapped around things that don't matter. If I take my time, I actually get more done.
